PORT ANGELES, WA, Oct. 21, 2013 (Peninsula Daily News ) - Gov. Jay Inslee will attend a private ribbon-cutting ceremony Nov. 1 to herald the later-in-November startup of Nippon Paper Industries USA's expanded biomass cogeneration plant.
The ceremony for the upgraded boiler, which will burn forest slash and other woody debris, is tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m. Nov. 1 at the paper-making plant at the base off Ediz Hook.

SAO PAULO, Oct. 23, 2013 (RISI) - Pulp producer Eldorado Brasil has received permission from the Brazilian national electric power agency (Aneel) to fire up the second biomass boiler at its 1.3 million tonnes/yr bleached eucalyptus kraft (BEK) pulp mill in Três Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul.
According to the company, this will allow the mill to work entirely on renewable energy, while generating a power surplus of up to 30MW/h which in turn can be commercialized to third parties.Read more
SAO PAULO, Oct. 8, 2013 (RISI) - Suzano Pulp and Paper has for the first time fired up the power biomass boiler at its new Imperatriz pulp unit in Maranhão state, Brazil. During the mill commissioning period the boiler will run for a few hours per day, as there is not yet demand for steam and energy.
