STOCKHOLM, May 24, 2013 (Press Release) -
SCA has once more been awarded for its sustainability reporting. In a large independent comparison of companies listed on the NASDAQ OMX Nordic Large Cap-list SCA was awarded "Best Sustainability Report 2012".
The comparison was done by Swedish independent environment publication MiljöRapporten together with an expert jury consisting of CSR- and sustainability professionals. All 58 companies on the Large Cap-list was part of the comparison. Among them are global companies like Volvo, Ericsson and H&M.
SCA received the jury's vote because of the reports strong connections between business values, sustainability and civil responsibilities. The jury also considered SCAs report as something other companies should use as an example when shifting from dutiful reporting to strategic sustainable work.
"This is good news that proves our long-term strategic sustainability work is paying off. For SCA, sustainability is an integral part of our business model and our operations. All our employees take a part of our sustainability efforts, from raw material sourcing, product development and manufacturing, all the way down to our customers and consumers," says SCA´s SVP Corporate Sustainability Kersti Strandqvist and continues:
"We have increased our measureable goals from four to eleven in the 2012 report because we believe it's a good way to ensure delivery. We also know that our consumers and customers have high demands on transparency and sustainability and we strive to live up to these high standards."
SCA has published its sustainability report since 1998 and this was not SCAs first award for the sustainability reporting. In 2012 SCA was awarded "Best sustainability report 2011" by Swedish FAR, the professional institute for authorized public accountants.
