HICKORY, NC, Dec. 4, 2012 (Press Release) -The von Drehle Corporation, a leading manufacturer of paper towels and tissue for the Away-From-Home market, is pleased to announce the successful start-up and opening of Blue Ridge Molding - a new injection molding company located in Hickory, North Carolina.

Blue Ridge Molding, a von Drehle Company, will be responsible for manufacturing many of von Drehle's towel and tissue dispensers - making von Drehle the only fully integrated supplier in the United States. Additional injection molding services are available to manufacturers and businesses requiring injection molded parts or products.

"With the addition of Blue Ridge Molding to the von Drehle family of companies, von Drehle has firmly cemented its position as the leader in the marketplace. By controlling and maintaining the industry's highest quality standards from beginning to end, we can continue to offer our products at or below marketplace price points and further our efforts to provide a superior customer experience," said Raymond von Drehle, Chairman of von Drehle Corporation.

Currently, Blue Ridge Molding can produce over half a million von Drehle dispensers per year, using all new, state-of-the-art, injection molding equipment. Computer automation along with servo robotics increases efficiency, while wireless technology allows constant monitoring of the systems throughout the facility - as well as globally - via computer, tablet, or even by smart phone.

"We have invested substantially in the technology at Blue Ridge Molding," said Steve von Drehle, President of von Drehle Corporation. "It represents the best capabilities presently available, and we wanted to ensure this new equipment would continue to produce the high level of quality our customers have come to expect".

Like von Drehle's other manufacturing facilities, environmental stewardship and energy efficiency are key components. Four new, super energy-efficient, molding production lines feature closed-loop systems which virtually eliminate all waste. Any excess materials are re-ground and fed back into the molders. Hydraulic oils, which can be detrimental to the environment, have been eliminated in these new electric injection molders, while variable speed motors greatly reduce the amount of energy required without reducing productivity.

"We have many tremendous companies that call Catawba County, NC, home - von Drehle Corporation is surely among the finest," said Scott Millar, President of the Catawba County Economic Development Corporation. "I am sure Blue Ridge Molding will continue its parent company's excellence in their commitments to their customers, their employees and the environment. We are extremely appreciative that von Drehle has continued to invest in Catawba County."
