Voith Paper starts up 220 tons/day tissue PM at CMPC mill in Altamira, Mexico

HEIDENHEIM, Germany, Feb. 25, 2011 (Press Release) -The VTM 4 tissue machine from Voith Paper is already producing tissue paper successfully on Absormex, subsidiary from CMPC Tissue located in Altamira, Mexico. The start-up was in the beginning of August, as planned. The VTM 4 will ensure an increase of 220 tons/day on the capacity of CMPC's production in Mexico. With a operating speed of 1,800 m/min the tissue machine is producing tissue papers with basis weights between 14 to 35 g/m².

As one of the largest tissue paper manufacturers in Latin America, CMPC is investing in high technology tissue machinery equipment as well as in peripheral infrastructure among their Latin American mills and chose Voith as key partner for this important project in Mexico.

Voith Paper's supply included: approach flow; the Masterjet II T headbox; Crescent Former; press section; drying section with a Voith Air Systems (PremiAir) hood and Voith Ribbed Yankee cylinder; erection, start-up and commissioning services, in addition to the engineering required for the project.

Voith Paper was also be responsible for the supply of the electrical and mechanical packages, including erection and commissioning of all the equipment necessary for the machine to operate, by means of the PLP (Process Line Package) system.
