RIO DO SUL, Brazil, Aug. 18, 2010 (Press Release) -Hergen Paper Machinery has, during its 35 years of activity, developed advanced technologies for tissue paper production and has now in its range of products for this segment, a New Ribbed Steel Yankee Dryer. This is the latest technology available to dry this kind of paper with proven operational efficiency at high speed machines and it also provides significant energy saving compared to the traditional cast iron Yankees.

The new Ribbed Steel Yankee Dryer produced by Hergen was designed with the best manufacture techniques and concepts thus giving to this equipment a high operational security and dryness efficiency. The dryer's shell is manufactured in high mechanical resistant steel plates and receives a metal coating applied by an Arc Spray process resulting in a surface with excellent hardness and final roundness controlled to suite the creping conditions.

At Damapel Com. e Distr. de Papéis Ltda., company located in the city of Guarulhos, State of São Paulo, Brazil, the Yankee Cylinder supplied by Hergen was designed for a working speed up to 1500 m/min and maximum working pressure of 10,5 bar with a maximum nip load of 120 kN/m. The Dryer has steel heads bolted to its shell resulting in a harmonic assembly with high rigidity and dimensional stability. This new technology obtained by Damapel is operating since 10 June 2010. The PM that received the Yankee Cylinder is a Crescent Former type, also manufactured by Hergen, with a paper widht of 2880 mm and its drying system was upgraded to allow the machine to operate in a speed of 1300 m/min.
