LONDON, July 12, 2019 (Press Release) -The Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) and Mondi Group have set up a strategic partnership oriented to research and education. At the Faculty of Technical Chemistry, Chemical and Process Engineering and Biotechnology at TU Graz, Mondi will endow two professorships, one in Pulping and Paper Technology and one in Food Contact Materials. In addition to research, a further focus of the strategic partnership will be future-oriented teaching and the training of young talent in business and science.
Read moreGRAZ, Austria, July 10, 2019 (Press Release) -International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from Russia’s Ilim Group to supply a new recovery boiler to its Ust-Ilimsk mill in Russia. The ANDRITZ HERB recovery boiler will have a black liquor combustion capacity of 1,950 tds/d, with start-up planned in the second half of 2021.
The order is part of the one billion US dollar “Big Ust-Ilimsk Project” that targets increasing pulp output at the mill by 130,000 tons per year and a finished product capacity increase from 550,000 to 1.5 million tons per year.

Read moreST PETERSBURG, Russia, July 5, 2019 (Press Release) -From June throughout October 2019 Ilim Group will reduce production volumes of bleached softwood pulp manufactured at its mills in Siberia (in Bratsk and in Ust-Ilimsk) by 165 thousand tons, which will primarily impact Ilim’s exports to Asia in this period. Reduction of production volumes is caused by a scheduled shutdown aimed at a large-scale modernization of the Ust-Ilimsk pulp line as an integral part of Ilim long term investment program.
