JAKARTA, Sept. 26, 2013 (Jakarta Post) - Pulp and paper producer Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia recieved a loan for Rp 300 billion ($26.1 million) to help its subsidiary fund expansion projects, the company announced on Tuesday.
The loan was received from China Development Bank, according to the statement from Agustian Partawijaya, a director and corporate secretary at Tjiwi Kimia.
He added that the company used its 35.29 percent stake ownership in Oki Pulp & Paper Mills as collateral for the loan.Read more

BROWNVILLE, NY, Sept. 17, 2013 (Watertown Daily Times) -Employees laid off at Florelle Tissue Corp. when it temporarily closed the last week of August because of a power failure won't be back to work at least until early October, company President Harry Minas said Monday.
The 16 employees, including 13 production workers, at the 1 Bridge St. plant are waiting for a failed power transformer to be repaired, but Mr. Minas said he is unsure how long that will take. Mr. Minas said Aug. 27 that he expected workers to be back on the job in three to four weeks.Read more
BRUSSELS, Sept. 12, 2013 (RISI) - SCA Tissue Finland is considering building a new steam boiler facility at its 80,000 tonne/yr tissue mill in Nokia, near Tampere, in Finland. The firm has applied for an environmental and operating permit for the plant from the Regional State Administrative Agency of Western and Inland Finland.

HELSINKI, Sept. 12, 2013 (Press Release) - Stora Enso's and Arauco's joint-venture pulp mill project Montes del Plata in Uruguay has been expected to begin the mill start-up process at the end of the third quarter of 2013. The mill site is 92% complete and the commissioning of certain areas has already begun. However, the main technology contractors have informed Montes del Plata that they will not be able to complete the work according to the agreed timetable.Read more
