BRUSSELS, Belgium, Jan. 16, 2020 (Fastmarkets RISI) -Macfarlane Group, a UK distributor of protective packaging, has bought the business of Teesside-based Armagrip, a protective packaging distribution business operating mainly in the industrial sector in the north of England.
Macfarlane acquired the inventory and goodwill of the business for an undisclosed sum.
The firm said in a statement the buy was in line with its strategy of building the business through a combination of organic and acquisitive growth.Read more

BRUSSELS, Belgium, Jan. 9, 2020 (Fastmarkets RISI) -ERBI Group, a Polish cartonboard converter, plans to move to a new site in Lodz in April 2020, increasing production by up to 40%. The new 4,800 m² site replaces the company’s existing two plants with combined 3,000 m² in the central Polish city.

BRUSSELS, Belgium, Dec. 18, 2019 (Fastmarkets RISI) -French cardboard packaging maker Fellmann Cartonnages has acquired two Speedmaster XL 106 LPL presses for its production facility in Guebwiller, in north-eastern France.
It is the third time Fellmann Cartonnages has chosen the Heidelberg brand to update the machinery fleet at its Guebwiller site and is part of its plans to raise output. Fellmann Cartonagges processes about 50,000 tonnes/yr of cardboard, producing 10 million packaging products per day, according local news outlet Emballages Magazine.Read more
BRUSSELS, Belgium, Dec. 12, 2019 (Fastmarkets RISI) -Stora Enso is investing EUR 9 million ($9.9 million) to build a pilot facility at Stora Enso’s Langerbrugge mill in Belgium designed to enable the production of bio-based plastics as a barrier in transparent packaging.
The pilot plant will convert plant-based sugars into the renewable building block required to make PEF, a bio-based plastic, mainly targeting the food and beverage industry.Read more
BRUSSELS, Belgium, Oct. 17, 2019 (Fastmarkets RISI) -French molded pulp packaging producer Écofeutre will open a new production facility in 2020 as part of the company’s plan to raise its production capacity.
Under the plan, the firm’s second factory will hit operational capacity in May 2020, according to local dailyLe Télégramme.
The mill is located in Évellys, a municipality in Brittany, northwestern France.
