The ambitious investment programme in progress across the whole of the Panther Group includes the current enhancement of the die-cutting section at the plant in Bottrop. The facilities at RRK Wellpappenfabrik are being supplemented by a Bobst Mastercut 2.1 Autoplatine, a high-end flat-bed die cutter.
The machine die-cuts corrugated board to the very highest quality. Various technical features contribute to the outstanding performance, such as the fully automatic pre-feeder, the power register for sheet alignment in the slide-in module (for precise alignment of the printing and die-cutting registers with minimal tolerances), an electronic control unit which speeds up set-up time and an order memory for repetitive orders. In addition, the die-cutter boasts a fully automated palletizing robot with a wide range of options for implementing special client pallet specifications. The new flat-bed die-cutter not only supplements the machinery at the RRK Wellpappenfabrik, which is designed for maximum reliability and quality assurance, but also creates additional die-cutting capacity across the product portfolio for demanding solutions in the application areas of transport and sales packaging.
Parallel to the investment in the flat-bed die-cutter, RRK Wellpappenfabrik has also invested in a new tool-storage system from bcmtranstech. A storage system customised to the requirements of the plant for all flat-bed and rotary die-cutting tools as well as printing plates has been developed and integrated into the operational configuration at an intermediate level.
In 2014, RRK Wellpappenfabrik will extend its machinery further with an inline machine featuring four ink units.
