Panther Group invests in Bobst FFG 618 flexo-folder-gluer for its Wepoba Wellpappenfabrik plant in Wustermark, Germany

TORNESCH, Germany, Feb. 13, 2014 (Press Release) -To match the increasingly stringent requirements of the market in terms of the high-quality finishing and colour-printing of slotted cases, the Panther Group has again invested in the latest technology. The Wepoba Wellpappenfabrik in Wustermark is now producing with another Bobst FFG 618, the so-called Mini-Line, which has been installed in the recently extended production hall.

The machine is a flexo-folder-gluer with four printing units and also features a double die-cutting unit, glue-joint monitoring, a counter and ejector and bundle evacuation. Supplemented by a bundling machine, a prefeeder and a fully automatic palletizer, the new installation also features the latest peripheral technology for the automated manufacture of slotted cases. To accommodate special client requirements, the machine has also been fitted with a batch inverter.

With its four inking units, the new line configuration offers the option of producing high-quality slotted cases in a single pass. The required printed images can be applied without interruption via grooves in the packaging.

The machine's direct drives mean that the process is conducted in a more environmentally friendly way, as production is carried out with considerably less operational material (lubricating agents, oils) than with conventional machines.

As complex and high-quality printed images are increasingly in demand for slotted cases used for transport packaging, the new machine configuration means that the company now boasts a further production alternative to satisfy such market requirements.
