Fifth annual Pira Packaging Summit to address “new world order” of packaging on Nov. 11-12 in London

October 15, 2014 - 22:20

BRUSSELS, Oct. 16, 2014 (PPI Europe) -Over 170 senior decision-makers from throughout the packaging industry will gather in London on November 11-12 to attend the fifth annual Pira Packaging Summit and discuss the latest updates, developments and changes impacting the packaging industry.

The event will take place against the backdrop of the ongoing European financial and economic crisis and declining consumption in many key developed countries, causing businesses in general, and the global packaging and packaging materials sectors in particular, to be increasingly cost-driven. In addition, the packaging sector now has to face what the conference organizers describe as a "new world order," with the rapid growth of online shopping.

The conference will provide delegates with an update on the emerging new age of packaging and how the market can prepare for it, in terms of challenges and opportunities.

To that effect, the event will be divided into different sessions: the past, present and future of packaging, emerging vs. mature markets, packaging sustainability, enabling technologies and the rise of the discount retailer.

Industry experts from Kingfisher Plc, SABMiller, NVC Packaging Centre, Metsä Board, Linpac Packaging, Marks & Spencer, Coca Cola, Global Print Strategies and Stora Enso, among others, will address the new and evolving industry drivers related to the new world of packaging, changing global consumer behavior, the digital world and market innovations that have emerged within the packaging sector.
