July 16, 2014 - 11:48

SAN FRANCISCO, July 16, 2014 (RISI) -RockTenn is curtailing production on two recycled corrugating medium machines "until further notice," according to contacts.

The company reportedly took down the 513/tons/day No. 1 medium machine at its West Point, VA, mill on Monday and will shut the 509 tons/day No. 1 machine at its Seminole mill in Jacksonville, FL, on Friday. The Seminole PM shut will result in the layoff of 50 workers, a contact said. The remaining machines at the two mills will continue to run.

The No. 1 Seminole machine was last down from Nov. 1-Jan. 21 to balance production with customer orders.
