Voith Paper was the supplier of the Staten Island 196" trim gap former machine. The machine, designed in 1997 to produce 710 short tons per day, now produces 1000+ short tons per day (monthly average) of 23 to 40 pounds/1000 sq. ft. of recycled linerboard and corrugating medium at speeds up to 3200 fpm.
The 196" trim Voith Paper machine in Georgia, designed in 1995 to produce 720 short tons per day, today produces 1000+ short tons per day (monthly average) of 23 to 56 pounds/1000 sq. ft. of recycled linerboard and corrugating medium at speeds up to 3400 fpm.
To acknowledge these milestones, Voith presented both mills with a commemorative plaque. According to Allen Bowdler, general manager of Pratt PM 12, "It was a pleasure to be part of the team that achieved the milestone of 6 million tons. This achievement was only made possible through the efforts of all people involved, past and present."
