SAO PAULO , (PPI Latin America) -
Brazilian Packaging Association (ABRE) has released its first half 2015 report showing that the country's packaging production declined 2.6% compared to January-June 2014. The performance in the second quarter was also 2.8% lower compared to April-June 2014, according to ABRE.
"Consumer confidence has been decreasing every month and thus the routine consumption fell, which directly impacts many sectors of the industry, including packaging. The international environment is still far from normal and a possible resumption of the packaging industry should not gain strength before mid-2016," ABRE's economist Salomão Quadros said.
