Klabin to showcase packaging solutions for food industry at Innovapack in São Paulo from Aug 23-25

August 24, 2016 - 21:46

SAO PAULO, Aug. 23, 2016 (Press Release) -Klabin, Brazil's largest paper producer and exporter and the leading manufacturer of corrugated board packaging and industrial bags, is participating in the first edition of Innovapack, the only event in Latin America focused on design, trends and innovation for final packaging of the food industry. The fair is being organized at Transamérica Expo Center in São Paulo, from August 23 to 25. With sustainable integrated solutions, Klabin will showcase its paperboard, corrugated board packaging and industrial bags for the food and beverage industry.

In the paperboard segment, the company will take the liquid packaging board (LPB) and its line for the food and beverage market: KlaFold®, produced with virgin fiber and its inner side with natural Kraft, is ideal for packaging that has direct contact with food; KlaFold FZ®, developed for refrigerated food, especially when subjected to extreme temperature conditions; and KlaMulti®, designed for packaging beverages such as beers and soft drinks in cans or glass bottles, and yogurts.

Klabin’s industrial bags division will present innovative packaging for green coffee, wheat flour and pet food, through solutions that combine resistance, porosity and elasticity to meet the food industry's requirements. In the corrugated board packaging line, Klabin will present its boxes for the food, beverage and vegetable produce sectors. This material is highly resistant in diverse storage and transportation conditions, such as damp and low-temperature environments, ensures the integrity of products until their final destination, enables adequate palletization, and enables quality printing through the flexographic system.

The packaging showcased by the company is produced from renewable natural resources, made with raw material extracted from planted and certified forests. Klabin’s Research, Development and Innovation division has lines of study focused on the final consumer, which enable the company to excel in meeting the specific demands of diverse market segments, such as special paperboard for the beer and refrigerated food chains, as well as specific paperboard for aseptic packaging to store liquids and pastes. Moreover, the industrial bags and corrugated board divisions have customizable solutions that have storage and handling differentials. For example, it is possible to increase the durability of food by creating a specific design and avoiding wastage.
