OSPEDALETTO D'ISTRANA, Italy , March 12, 2018 (Press Release) -The cooperation between BOBST and Pro-Gest Group – leader in Italy in the production of paper, cardboard and packaging – dates back to the late '70s, when Mr. Zago, CEO of Pro-Gest, bought the first die-cutter for the production plant located in Ospedaletto di Istrana (Treviso). Since the beginning, the Italian paper packaging Group has identified in the Swiss manufacturer an excellent technological partner, able to guarantee and comply with the quality, operational efficiency and technological innovation standards necessary for the Group in order to position itself at the top of the packaging industry.
BOBST is one of the world's leading manufacturers of equipment and services for packaging and label manufacturers in the folding carton, corrugated board and flexible materials industries.
Founded in 1890 by Joseph Bobst in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Company is present in more than 50 countries, runs 12 production facilities in 8 countries and employs over 5,000 people around the world.
Thanks to all these reasons and the excellent relationship between the two Groups, Pro-Gest chose BOBST once again for the purchase of three new machines allocated for the Trevikart plants in Silea and Ospedaletto di Istrana. The production process of the boxes has been completely automated over time, thanks to the Group's significant investments, especially in the Silea plant. For this reason, Trevikart has chosen the MASTERCUT 2.1 machine, the latest generation of BOBST Autoplaten model. Two new MASTERCUT 2.1 have already been installed in Silea to replace the previous BOBST die-cutting machines, which have been transferred to the recently acquired factories in Pontirolo Nuovo (Bergamo) and Modugno (Bari).
The third new MASTERCUT 2.1 will be installed in the first semester of 2018 in the Ospedaletto di Istrana plant. The investment aims to achieve the purposes of maximizing the production of square meters processed per hour, increasing in yield per sheet and reduction of waste due to the production process.
This is certainly achievable by using machines that reach 7,000 die-cut sheets per hour - almost twice as much as the previous generation machines - and that are equipped with POWER REGISTER, a system which allows a greater accuracy during the die-cutting process, improving the overall quality of the packaging. The width of 2,1 m, the working speed and technological precision are the main innovations of this flatbed die-cutting machine that will allow the company a substantial leap forward and will offer the final customer the best technology available in the market in terms of cutting and printing quality.
These MASTERCUT 2.1 are currently the only ones in Italy completely dedicated to the production of pizza boxes. This demonstrates the importance of the Pro-Gest investment, aimed at confirming the European leadership of Cuboxal, example for all the main players in the distribution of food products. To complete this important purchase, a dedicated training program was agreed for the machine operators who work on the MASTERCUT, in order to maximize the performance in the shortest possible time. Cuboxal, which has recently seen an increase in its production of boxes, is now ready to strengthen its role in the pizza boxes market with an even more aggressive approach in Europe and beyond.
