NOVODVINSK, Russia, Jan. 13, 2021 (Press Release) -In February - March 2021, Arkhbum Tissue Group LLC (IP Vorsino, Kaluga region, part of the Pulp Mill Holding) will increase the output of sanitary tissue products made from base paper of its own production.
According to Alexander Tufanov, the Director of the company, the installation of the third Futura converting line (Italy) with a capacity of 276 million standard rolls of toilet paper and paper towels per year began in January.
The new line includes the converting line itself, two packaging machines manufactured by Plus line (Italy), the automatic palletizing robot and Elettric 80 autoloaders (Italy), as well as Bema pallet wrapper (Italy).
The total cost of the complete third line project is 8.2 million euros.
The installation and commissioning, as well as the warranty tests of the new equipment will take place within two months. In March, the third converting line will be placed into service.
Thus, Arkhbum Tissue Group will be able to increase its share up to 10% in the Russian market for pulp types of sanitary tissue products (now the capacity of two operating converting lines is more than 600 million standard rolls of toilet paper and paper towels per year).
At the same time, a new Omet line (Italy) for the napkins production is being installed at the first stage of the Arkhbum Tissue Group plant. The line cost is 2 million euros.
This equipment includes a converting line, individual and group packaging machines, and an automatic palletizing robot.
The production capacity of OMET line will be 150 tons or 150 million of 1, 2 and 3-layers Soffione napkins per month.
The launch of the line is scheduled for February 2021.
Alexander Tufanov also specified that Arkhbum Tissue Group is actively building the zero cycle of the second and third stages of the plant's development.
As previously reported, the investments in the next two stages of the company's plant amount to 8.5 billion rubles each. The second stage will allow Arkhbum Tissue Group to increase its capacity to 140 thousand tons per year and the third line to 210 thousand tons per year with an increase in staff to 535 employees, then to 685 employees.
“We are currently negotiating with suppliers of equipment for the process flow of the second paper machine and we are preparing to hold a tender to select a supplier of this equipment, which will be held at the end of January,” said Alexander Tufanov.
He also detailed that top corporations are participating in the tender: Valmet, ANDRITZ, Toscotec-Voith, A. Cheli.
The contract will be signed no later than March this year.
