Walki's production lines, which specialise in the manufacturing of corrugated box products, have been relocated to Kwidzyn from the company's Jatne plant, situated 40 kilometres South-East from Warsaw. With the move, Walki seeks to keep production close to its main customer, International Paper's Fine Paper mill - also situated in the town of Kwidzyn, Poland.
Walki's new production site is located at the Kompap company premises and manufacturing there will help to create about 30 jobs in the region.
Box production is an important part of Walki's packaging material offering to the paper industry. First production tests at the Kwidzyn plant were made in November 2012 and a normal production level was reached at the end of December according to plans.
Walki's investment program also includes the instalment of a new flexographic printing machine at its Jatne plant.
The printing machine will be started in the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2013 focusing mainly on the production ream wrap used mostly for the wrapping of A4 and A3 copy paper reams.
