BRUSSELS, Aug. 29, 2013 (PPI Europe) -Russia's P.M. Packaging is progressing with its $40 million investment in a new brownfield corrugated packaging plant in Ulyanovsk, central Russia.

By spring 2014, the firm plans to start up a 180 million m2/yr BHS corrugator. The 2.5 m wide corrugator will be able to make three- and five-ply corrugated board with flute types ranging from F to B and C. Its maximum speed is 350 m/min.

The facility, which will occupy a 40,000 m2site, will also house several converting lines.

The Ulyanovsk plant will be P.M. Packaging's first corrugated facility. The firm currently operates two converting facilities - a corrugated box plant and a folding box plant - in nearby Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk.
