October 14, 2015 - 01:10

LAUTERBACH, Germany, Sept. 28, 2015 (Press Release) -STI Group is laying the foundations for continued success with bold investment projects to enhance its production facilities across the corporate group. Its Lauterbach plant, destined to become the printing centre for Vogelsberg, will undergo a strategic restructure and installation of a state of the art printing machine, the Heidelberg Speedmaster XL. At the same time, its Rumburk facility in the Czech Republic will undergo a site-wide expansion.

‘We are kicking off our Lauterbach plant restructure by investing in a new printing machine and expanding the production facility,' says Aleksandar Stojanovic, manging director at STI Group. In collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute, STI Group conducted a detailed analysis before making the decision. To maximize the benefits of the new printing machine and streamline site logistics, the production building will be expanded by around 2,000m2. Groundbreaking is scheduled for as early as October this year, while the Heidelberg machine installation is slated for completion by the end of March 2016.

‘We are kicking off our Lauterbach plant restructure by investing in a new printing machine and expanding the production facility,' says Dr. Tom Giessler, chief operations officer at STI Group.

By 2020, the company intends to increase its production output by 25 - 30 per cent, and in doing so will invest around 30 million Euros in its Lauterbach facility.

Expansion of activities in Czech Republic

A major expansion of the STI Group facility in Rumburk, Czech Republic, is due for completion as early as summer 2016. This investment will better position the plant to serve the increasing demand for high-quality packaging and creative displays in Central and Eastern Europe.

After adding 2,000 m2 of production space, the company will install a large-format offset printing machine to enhance productivity. From October, displays manufactured in Rumburk can be given a high-gloss coating using the latest lamination technology.

A dedicated Design Centre in Prague will ensure the company stays close to the market and its customers. ‘The possibility to create designs and samples on site in Prague will significantly speed up operations and allow us to offer an even better service to our partners,' believes STI Group Chief Sales Officer, Aleksandar Stojanovic.

‘The Rumburk facility plays an important strategic role in our organisation and helps to position STI Group as a market leader in European display production,' adds Stojanovic. ‘Not only will this expansion benefit local brand manufacturers, it will also offer significant advantages to our key accounts across Europe.'
