Södra to take maintenance downtime at its Mörrum pulp mill in Sweden from April 12

April 08, 2010 - 20:34

VAXJO, Sweden, April 9, 2010 (Press Release) -

Tube replacement in the soda recovery boiler, a new inlet section in drum barker 21 and a new operating system for TM 1 are some of the substantial measures that will take place. Between 600-700 contractors will be involved to minimize stoppage time, and the total cost for the stoppage will be just over SEK 100 million.

All of Södra Cell's pulp factories are subjected to a maintenance stoppage every 18 months. They are coordinated within Södra to ensure customer pulp deliveries. The planned stoppages assure continued operations at the plant, which is the very foundation of Södra Cell's ability to continue being a reliable pulp supplier.
