Papierfabrik Palm achieves newsprint speed record on Voith's QualiFlex press sleeve in Germany

March 11, 2010 - 19:05

HEIDENHEIM, Germany, March 11, 2010 (Press Release) -The QualiFlex press sleeve has achieved a triple world record on PM 3 at Papierfabrik Palm in Eltmann, Germany. Both the lifetime of the sleeve and the number of nip passes, as well as the speed, distinctly exceeded the previous record for newsprint.

At the end of last year, the QualiFlex press sleeve was removed after a running time of 540 days and 268 million nip passes and therefore hit two new world records. During its lifetime, the press sleeve has additionally already set part of the speed record for newsprint, which PM 3 achieved with a speed of 2,005 m/min in July 2008. PM 3 runs with QualiFlex press sleeves on both positions of the Tandem NipcoFlex press.

Throughout its running time, the Voith QualiFlex press sleeve showed excellent performance. The dewatering capacity remained stable even after a long running time and under high load. This record again proves that Voith is the technological leader in the field of press sleeves for closed shoe presses.
