IMMINGHAM, UK, May 3, 2013 (Press Release) -We are delighted to confirm that Peter J Douglas Engineering Ltd (PJD), under the auspices of their framework agreement with Metso, recently carried out mechanical service works to the wood-fuelled boiler installed at UPM Kymmene Caledonian Mill, Irvine in Scotland. The initial scope of works was to be carried out at peak using a workforce totalling 32.
PJD were able to rapidly mobilise with a team that is highly experienced in carrying out works on a similar boilers in Scotland.
In total, over 200 pressure part welds were executed, with a zero failure rate. Despite some initial challenges, all definite and emergent works were completed to the satisfaction of the client. A successful boiler hydraulic test was completed on the afternoon of Friday April 26th and all mechanical works were completed some 24hrs later.
