"I have a dream" - CEPI Photo Competition

BRUSSELS, July 30, 2012 (RISI) -The Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI) continued with its work of promoting the industry in all possible ways by recently holding a photo competition with paper as its central theme. Entitled "Paper Moments" the competition was a great success, and attracted over 550 entries from countries all over Europe.

The judges, Teresa Presas, director general of CEPI, Alexander Louvet, professional photographer, Simon Leysen, managing director of Belgian multi-media agency Morris and Chapman, andPPIeditor Mark Rushton, had a battle to come up with a winner as the quality and imagination displayed photos that covered a whole meeting room at CEPI's headquarters in Brussels.

The Winner

But finally the winner was decided upon; first prize went to Sandu Mihai with the very moving photo of a boy entitled: "I have a Dream". Mihai is a student based in Romania.

Second prize went to Dominik Fleischmann, also a student who is studying photography at the Berliner Technische Kunsthochschule in Germany for his shot: "Paper Room" and third prize went to Benoit Gradel for "Declaration". Gradel is an amateur photographer living in France.

The winners will be invited to an awards ceremony in Brussels, which will take place during Paper Week in November.
