Metso to replace QCS at Papeteries de Raon's packaging paper mill in France

September 07, 2011 - 21:00

HELSINKI, Sept. 8, 2011 (Press Release) -Metso has signed an agreement with Papeteries de Raon for the replacement of the existing QCS system in its mill of Raon l'Etape, France. The project will be completed before the end of this year.

Metso's delivery scope includes a QCS system with one scanner featuring weight and moisture measurements with MD controls, that will be installed on the PM5's reel.

Replacement of older scanners in Paper Industry is bringing great benefits not only because of better technology and quality controls but also due to the increase risks and cost of maintenance and parts availability of old systems.

Metso IQ new technology QCS scanners require much less maintenance on site to sustain operation. The increased accuracy of measurements provide improved performances and controls enabling adequate production response to market competitiveness and quality requirements.

Papeteries de Raon is a French independent producer of fine recycled papers for packaging grades. The mill has 100 employees in Raon l'Etape, Vosges (North East of France), and is one of the European leaders in producing recycled paper for food packing.
