Twitter cancels plans to issue paper stock certificates, to track all stock ownership electronically

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 23, 2013 (Local News) -Just days before some anticipated finding framed Twitter stock certificates under the tree this year, Twitter canceled its plans to issue paper stock certificates after all.
In November, Twitter surprised many with plans to issue paper stock certificates shortly after going public. GiveAShare reached out to me in early November to say Twitter planed to provide stock certificates, if requested. An executive at the company's transfer agent, Computershare, later confirmed those plans with me.
That's history now. Over the past weekend, GiveAShare.com told me it had submitted customers' paperwork for Twitter stock certificates when it found out the San Francisco company had changed its mind.
