April 22, 2013 - 08:11

WASHINGTON, DC, April 19, 2013 (Press Release) -Renewable Bag Council today announced the launch of its newly redesigned

The improved website showcases an enhanced branding of the Council, while creating a go-to source of information on the positive benefits of paper bags, and provides a platform to highlight the group's @renewablebag Twitter feed.

"When choosing a retail or grocery bag, paper is the most environmentally-conscious choice. An improved web presence gives us a greater platform on which to advocate on behalf of paper bags," said AF&PA Group Vice President Cathy Foley.

Through paper bag facts, policy statements, news and social media, the site offers visitors easy access to information about the priorities and actions the Council is taking with and on behalf of its members.

Renewable Bag Council is a coordinated effort by Kraft paper producers and converters to promote paper bags as the preferred choice for use in retail and grocery outlets. The Council, in coordination with the American Forest & Paper Association, engages in policy advocacy efforts to advance state and local legislation that protects consumers from unfair fees or taxes on paper bags.

Members of Renewable Bag Council include Ampac, Georgia-Pacific LLC, International Paper Company, Kapstone Paper & Packaging, Longview Fibre Paper & Packaging, and Port Townsend Paper Corporation.
