ATLANTA, GA, June 17, 2015 (Press Release) -Registration is open for the 2015 Introduction to Kraft Pulping and Bleaching Course scheduled for Aug. 4-5 at the TAPPI Training Facility in Peachtree Corners, Ga.

Participants will expand their overall understanding of kraft pulp mill operations including a broadened awareness of how one part of the process effects other operations and the effect of processes on kraft pulp quality. Additionally, participants will learn how to troubleshoot product quality problems and gain the ability to improve kraft mill operations.
This course is ideal for anyone new to the kraft pulping process, particularly process engineers and operators.

About the Instructor:
Dr. Michael Kocurek is one of the world's most recognized educators in the pulp and paper industry. As Professor Emeritus of Paper Science & Engineering at North Carolina State University, Dr. Kocurek's focus is on Pulp & Paper Technology, Paper Properties, and Workforce and Professional Development.
He has taught Pulping and Bleaching to both undergraduate and graduate students and groups of technical personnel and operators for more than 40 years.
Dr. Kocurek is active in teaching distance learning courses and has taught in-mill company classroom short courses on Kraft Pulping Manufacture at more than 15 mill locations.
Dr. Kocurek is the editor of 11 books, including the recognized Pulp and Paper Manufacture series covering the entire field of pulp & paper. He has authored / co-authored 6 video courses, including the new NSF sponsored distance learning courses in Pulping, Papermaking, Tissue, and P&P Laboratories for Alabama Southern's National Network for P&P Training.
Dr. Kocurek received his B.S., M.S., and PhD degrees in Paper Science & Engineering from the SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry, and Syracuse University.
He has served as Paper Science Department Head at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, an academic program he founded; and NC State University. His honors include TAPPI Fellow, TAPPI Distinguished Service Award, and induction into the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame - an honor bestowed to recognize people who have made preeminent contributions to the global paper industry.
