CINCINNATI, June 6, 2019 (Local News) -Procter & Gamble intends to test market an Olay skin care package designed to accommodate refills, which company executives said could dramatically reduce the amount of plastic used in manufacturing as well as waste going to landfills.

The Cincinnati-based maker of consumer goods (NYSE: PG) plans to run the pilot program involving Olay Regenerist Whip moisturizer from October through December.

A refill pod made of recyclable polypropylene fits in the jar. Consumers will be able to buy the refillable Olay Regenerist Whip package that contains a full jar and one refill pod of moisturizer. Pricing has yet to be confirmed. The package will be shipped in a container made of 100% recycled paper.
