STEVENS POINT, WI, July 8, 2014 (Local News) -Sherlock Holmes, Dick Tracy, Miss Marple, Columbo, Jessica Fletcher and Jethro Gibbs. Fictional detectives who use intelligence, curiosity, instinct and style to solve a mystery. These characteristics are on display on a daily basis by the staff of the NewPage Research and Development facility.

The Research and Development Facility (R&D) was built in 1959 by Consolidated Papers Inc. Since then, the building has undergone several expansions and equipment upgrades. Research and Development provides cost-effective and innovative product and process development to meet customer requests and enable long-term competitiveness and prosperity through the proper application of science, technology and innovation. R&D currently employs about 42 people in a 42,000-square-foot facility in Biron.
