April 22, 2010 - 08:25

GLENS FALLS, NY, April 22, 2010 (PostStar) -Finch Paper LLC is nearing completion of an agreement to turn over its wood-processing operation to a Georgia company that would modernize the woodyard.

"We're hoping to finalize an agreement by the end of June so that construction can begin later this year," said Finch spokesman John Brodt. "If everything continues as planned, we're targeting a start-up for summer 2011."

Under the agreement, Fulghum Fibres would build and operate a new facility for storing, debarking and chipping logs. Finch would still make pulp and obtain wood from suppliers.
