ABERCROMBIE POINT, NS, Oct. 24, 2011 (Local News) -A project that will cut Northern Pulp's odour emissions by 70 per cent is underway

The mill has been shut down for regular scheduled maintenance, as well as installation of improved environmental projects, since Oct. 16.

Don Breen, vice-president of Business Development and Environmental Affairs, says this shutdown is the busiest in recent memory for the mill, contractors and local businesses. Over 600 contractors, 145 term employees and over 200 Northern Pulp employees have been onsite each day to carry out the projects.
