Mexico’s Propasa selects Voith to rebuild PM3 and raise cardboard production by 10% at San Nicolas mill

SAO PAULO, June 14, 2012 (Press Release) -Propasa, a cardboard manufacturer, has celebrated a contract with Voith Paper for the PM3 rebuild, at the San Nicolas mill, Mexico.

The project scope includes the supply of a MasterJet Pro F/B headbox with ModuleJet II dilution control, the forming section rebuild, including a DuoShake - equipment which allows higher homogeneity in the paper web formation -, the dryer section rebuild, and the reel and slitter & winder modernization.

Propasa has also acquired the basic engineering for the steam and condensate, lubrication, ventilation and vacuum systems, and the services of erection supervision, commissioning and start-up, foreseen for January, 2013.

With this project, the Mexican company intends to increase by up to 10% its cardboard production (to 429 ton/day), as well as to enhance its end product quality and optimize the manufacturing process safety, with the application of the new equipment technology. As a result, Propasa will take an important step towards the group consolidation and growth in highly competitive markets, such as the Mexican and the North American markets.
