PITTEN, Austria , Feb. 27, 2020 (Press Release) -Hamburger Containerboard has given notice of a four-week postponement in the start-up of the new paper machine at the Spremberg location. The first paper will become available in midAugust. The postponement is due to delays in the construction work.

Paper deliveries already agreed with customers will not be affected by the shift in time.

Hamburg Containerboard is making an investment of 370 million euros, at the Schwarze Pumpe industrial park, in further expansion its production capability, making the location one of the most modern and highest output plants in Europe.

With both machines running at full capacity utilisation, 850,000 tonnes of high-quality white and brown packaging paper can be produced annually.

The Hamburger Containerboard Group

With ten production plants and an annual output of 2.4 million tonnes, Hamburger Containerboard ranks among Europe’s leading manufacturers of premium corrugated base paper.
