BIRMINGHAM, UK, Dec. 19, 2019 (Press Release) -Our Merseyside site, located close to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, has upgraded its waste extraction system to support current and proposed increases in production output.

Work to the system, which has seen piping upgrades, installation of additional and replacement of extractor fans and two new compactors, has been carried out by industry contractors, Delta Neu.

“Our waste system was no longer able to cope with the demands that we were placing on it and this new system will help us to maintain the high standards of housekeeping and health and safety that we expect,” said Stefan Weig Managing Director Boxes and Packaging (Merseyside). “Our old compactor was replaced and a further new one installed, allowing for all corrugated waste to be safely and efficiently collected, before it is taken away by a third-party recycling company.”

With compacting capacity increased, there has been a significant decrease in the amount of collections required. Furthermore, the entire system will help to minimise production downtime thereby driving efficiencies and allowing the system to cope with planned increases in production in the years ahead.

“This system is a key part of our day to day operations and the upgrade has had a significant impact on production, day to day housekeeping procedures and recycling capabilities,” said Stefan. “We look forward to 2020 and to further small, but significant changes that will impact on our systems and procedures.”
