Bellmer completes modernization of BM 21 for white top kraftliner at Mondi's Syktyvkar mill in Russia

NIEFERN-OSCHELBRONN, Germany, Nov. 17, 2010 (Press Release) -Bellmer was awarded the order for the modernisation of BM 21 at Syktyvkar in Russia. Bellmer is proud to have been chosen as the proven and highly regarded supplier by Mondi group featuring operating locations all over the world. Main objectives of this upgrade project were the quality improvement of the white top kraftliner produced on board machine # 21 as well as the sustained increase of production. This ambition has been accomplished.

In September 2010, Bellmer completed this rebuild of BM 21 so that the machine featuring an operating width of 6.30 metres could be restarted without any problems. Production capacity of the upgraded machine is 280,000 tons / year which means an increase of approx. 30 %. The enhanced white top kraftliner quality made on BM 21 is not only meant for the Russian market but also for export to foreign countries.

The Bellmer scope of supply included two TURBOShakersTMfor breast roll shaking, a shoe press TwinningPressTMfor linear pressures up to 1,200 kN/m, a fully automatic EQUALReelerTMwith reeling hardness control as well as a film press made by UMV. The Mondi crew around Leonid Durnev, production manager of BM 21, was very satisfied with the Bellmer performance concerning this challenging large-scale project. Bellmer is proud to have been actively involved in one of the greatest modernisation project of the Russian pulp and paper industry.
