Ecolab's Nalco Water introduces new Ultis Dry2 Strength Technology to improve strength and runability of paper products

October 10, 2018 - 13:02

NAPERVILLE, IL , Oct. 2, 2018 (Press Release) -Nalco Water, an Ecolab company, introduces Ultis Dry2Strength Technology, a dry format additive to help pulp and paper companies improve the strength and runability of their paper products, reduce total cost of operation and enhance supply chain sustainability.

“Ultis Dry² Strength Technology will help our customers meet growing market demand for stronger, lighter boxes while increasing the efficiency and safety of their operations,” said Luis G E Pereira, senior vice president and general manager of Global Paper for Nalco Water. “The industry needs better options to meet increasing performance demands while helping control manufacturing costs and increase productivity, Ultis delivers just that.”

The use of Ultis Dry2Strength Technology enables pulp and paper companies to improve paper strength quality specifications and on-machine efficiency, while reducing raw material variability. This technology also provides additional fiber and energy savings, and improves the effectiveness of other additives, with increased retention levels.

Ultis Dry2Strength Technology uses a dry product platform that allows for safer handling, longer shelf life and a reduction in the supply chain carbon footprint. The lighter and more compact dry platform can reduce transportation needs by up to 90 percent compared to alternative liquid dry strengths used in paperboard manufacturing.
