STOCKHOLM, March 18, 2010 (Press Release) -Rotterdam is a key link in SCA's Containerboard's supply chain to Western Europe and overseas container destinations. SCA's Interforest Terminal has just recently invested in an additional warehouse with an area of 20,000 square metres.

The SCA terminal in Rotterdam plays an important part in our ability to deliver paper effectively and efficiently to our Western European customers in the Benelux, France and south western Germany.

Twice a week, SCA vessels deliver containerboard paper from our 2 Swedish mills, Munksund and Obbola, to this terminal. From here, a total of 160,000 tonnes are distributed over 3 main areas:

  • Western Europe (Benelux, France, south western Germany)
  • Mediterranean (Greece, Turkey, Cyprus)
  • Overseas exports

"The new warehouse has unique health characteristics, says Bob de Lange, Terminal manager at Interforest Terminal Rotterdam. "It is designed for the handling of sensitive types of paper and pulp, i.e. paper that is used in foodstuff packaging or pulp for hygiene products. The new warehouse meets standards set out in HACCP, the regulatory code that governs the hygienic handling of food. This warehouse is as clean as a warehouse can be".
