SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 7, 2012 (RISI) -US-Canadian pulp and paper railroad freight in November was off 0.1% from a year ago, the Assn of American Railroads reported. November volume of 37,231 carloads was 2.8% below November 2010.

US pulp and paper freight at 23,941 carloads in November was 0.9% above 2011 and 1.6% higher than 2010, AAR showed. Canadian freight at 13,290 carloads was down 1.8% from 2011 and 9.9% below 2010.

US-Canada lumber and wood products rail freight at 22,601 carloads in November was up 6.7% from 2011 and 26.1% above 2010. US volume was 10% higher than 2011 and 26.5% higher than 2010. Canada was up 3.5% and 25.6% respectively.

Combined primary forest products carloads at 12,173 units were off 0.1% from 2011 and up 6.3% from 2010.
