SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 13, 2012 (RISI) -Three days of negotiations between the International Longshoremen's Association and their employers ended on Wednesday without a labor agreement to replace the one that expires on Dec. 29,American Shipperreported today.
The talks are for a labor contract for workers at 15 ports along the US East and Gulf coasts.
The workers' union said talks aimed at working out a new master contract with employers, represented by the U.S. Maritime Alliance, will resume Monday in Newark, NJ.
A focus point in the talks is on royalties paid to port workers for handling containers.
