OAKLAND, CA, Nov. 25, 2013 (Local News) -Dozens of truckers at the Port of Oakland plan to walk off the job Wednesday to protest work conditions.

The Port of Oakland Truckers Association, which represents about a quarter of the drivers moving goods at the port, say demands for better pay, more time to meet new environmental rules and compensation for long wait times are being ignored.

Association officials have been meeting with various parties responsible for port operations, from private shipping companies to state and city leaders, including Oakland Mayor Jean Quan.
