North American forest products rail freight down 3.6% in week ending Nov. 22

OAKLAND, CA, Nov. 27, 2014 (RISI) -North American forest products railroad volume was down 3.6% in the latest week ending Nov. 22 from a year ago at 18,157 carloads, the Assn of American Railroads reported.
Volume through 47 weeks of 2014 was 0.5% below last year at 877,674 carloads.
US traffic in the week was down 1.5%, Canada was lower by 6.4% and Mexico's relatively minor volume was down 43.5%.
Year-to-date US forest products rail volume was up 2.4% and Canada was down 4.7%, AAR showed.
Total North American carload volume in the week was up 0.9% and year-to-date was 3% higher.
