OAKLAND, CA, Aug. 12, 2016 (RISI) -Genesee & Wyoming reported its North American pulp and paper rail freight in July was down 9.5% from a year ago to 14,094 carloads.

The company said the decrease was “primarily due to decreased shipments across most of G&W’s regions.”

For six months, pulp and paper freight was down 6.5% to 82,296 carloads. Pulp and paper accounted for 10.7% of G&W carloads in the six month period.
