Josep Maria Cruset i Domènech (born Riudoms, 1975) became the president of the Tarragona Port Authority in November 2018.

Josep Maria Cruset has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Rovira i Virgili University Higher School of Chemical Engineering (ETSEQ) and an MBA from the same university. He specialises in Process and Quality Management and worked as a Quality Specialist for the Tarragona Provincial Government, a body in which he is a civil servant currently on leave of absence.

He was mayor of Riudoms from 2007 to 2011 and a councillor on the Baix Camp County Council from 2007 to 2009. In 2009, he was elected a member of the Tarragona Provincial Government and in 2011 became its vice president, as well as the member responsible for the Municipalities Assistance Service (SAM), posts he relinquished on becoming president of the Port of Tarragona.

He is a member of the University Chair Promotional Group and Region of Knowledge of the Rovira i Virgili University and the ETSEQ Advisory Council and a member of the Assessment Committee for the Unified Works and Services Plan of Catalonia from 2013 to 2016.

As president of the Port of Tarragona, he is also president of ChemMed, the first chemical industry cluster in southern Europe, a member of the Board of Directors of the Tarragona Port Promotion Group (APPORTT), a member-consultant of the Tarragona Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Shipping and a member of the Reus Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the international port organisations MEDPorts Association and the Mediterranean Ports Community.

In 2019, the IFPTA and Fastmarkets RISI will invite to Tarragona, Spain, for the Transport Symposium 23. Based at the Port of Tarragona, one of the biggest paper and pulp ports in Europe, and with over 500 attendees, TS23 will witness one of the biggest gatherings of supply chain professionals and buyers over the next two years.

PPI Transport Symposium is the longest running conference and exhibition dedicated to the global forest products logistics industry. Organized by Fastmarkets RISI, in association with the International Forest Products Transport Association (IFPTA), the event focuses on the issues surrounding the worldwide transport, materials handling, and distribution of forest products.
