GOTEBORG, Sweden, Oct. 20, 2016 (Press Release) -Swedish Orient is continuing to expand and adds with the M/V Vinterland another RoRo vessel to its fleet. The ship is on a long term charter to Metsä Board, a leading European producer of folding boxboards and white linerboards. SOL increases with this vessel its presence in the Baltic Sea and expands the service offer to present and future freight customers. Before the ship was renamed to “Vinterland” it was sailing under the name “Transreel”.

„We are happy to announce that M/V Vinterland, will be added to our network. SOL will from now on serve the Metsä Husum mill with Vinterland including an additional call with a liner vessel calling Husum southbound from Kemi and Oulo”, says Ragnar Johansson, Svenska Orient Linien AB. “SOL will take care of the transport needs of Metsä Board from Husum to several destinations in Europe. It shows that SOL would like to expand in the forest industry shipping sector”, says Johansson.

The vessel will strengthen SOL’s network and give the company the opportunity to further develop its route network. This will support the volume growth SOL has experienced in the North European traffic. The new vessel in permanent service increases SOL’s capacity significantly and adds an additional capacity to its fleet. The Ro-Ro Cargo ship M/V Vinterland has a carrying capacity of 11.396 tonnes and a gross tonnage of 18.773. The growth of the fleet demonstrates the agility and adaptability of SOL’s strategy to constantly develop the route network and its services. SOL is committed to continually offer a convenient, frequent and fast transport services to its customers and will further increase its level of service on existing routes.
