PEFC UK celebrates 10 years of sustainable forestry management

SHEFFIELD, UK, June 5, 2010 (Press Release) -The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) schemes is delighted to announce that this year the world's largest global certification scheme will celebrate its 10-year anniversary in the UK.

Since PEFC established itself in the UK the chain of custody certificate numbers has continued to grow, with PEFC UK having the second highest number of chain of custody certificates within the PEFC family, with over 1,300 issued to date, with PEFC UK accounting for almost 20% of the global total.

Canada funds $810K toward Tolko enviro project at The Pas kraft paper mill

THE PAS, MB, June 2, 2010 (Press Release) -Tolko Industries Ltd. is improving its environmental performance and contributing to a more sustainable pulp and paper industry in Canada with help from an $810,000 investment by the Government of Canada.

Tolko's specialty kraft paper mill in The Pas, Manitoba, will receive funding under the Pulp and Paper Green Transformation Program (PPGTP) for new equipment, which will improve the mill's energy efficiency.
