NEW DELHI, Sept. 30, 2019 (Local News) -Kitchenware and culinary brand Tupperware India has announced to stop the usage of single-use plastic for product packaging from October 1, and instead use recyclable paper based compostable packaging material.
In a statement, the company has said that the transition would increase the company's expenditure by around 7 per cent, but the company would not pass on the rise in cost to the consumers.Read more

LEEDS, UK, Sept. 27, 2019 (Press Release) -Asda has announced it will be launching a supermarket first - a range of plastic-free living herbs.
All of Asda’s living herbs, which are currently sold in a plastic pot with a plastic wrap, will be moving into a new, more sustainable container called a 'plug'.
The plastic wrap will also be replaced by a paper sleeve to protect the herbs, making the entire product plastic-free, which will save 45.6 tonnes of plastic each year.Read more

LONDON, Sept. 27, 2019 (Press Release) -Following an investigation by the Environment Agency (EA), one of the UK’s largest waste management companies - Biffa Waste Services Ltd - has been ordered to pay a total of £599,912 for breaching waste exports regulations.
In June, Biffa was found guilty after a three week trial of sending contaminated household waste, described as waste paper, to China between May and June 2015. Exports of unsorted household recycling waste from the UK to China are banned.Read more
