EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands, Oct. 15, 2010 (Press Release) -Van Gansewinkel subsidiary, Destra Data has received FSC certification. This makes Destra Data the first paper recycling company in the world able to supply raw materials with the FSC Recycled label.

The FSC Recycled label provides customers of Destra Data with security with regard to the origin of their raw materials and allows them to demonstrate that their products are made using 100% waste paper. Destra Data specialises in the destruction of confidential documents and processes approximately 25,000 metric tonnes of waste paper per year.

The company strives to achieve a best possible second life for the paper that it processes. This also fits in well with the Cradle to Cradle philosophy that is at the core of the Van Gansewinkel company. Usually, in the production of high quality office paper, more fresh wood fibre is used than recycled material, while this is not necessary. Furthermore, by using recycled material in paper production, you can save up to 50% on your water and energy bills, while simultaneously reducing your CO2 emissions.

The FSC Recycled label is one of the labels of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and assures you that a paper product is made from recycled material. This international organisation sets global standards for forest management, coupled with a quality mark. According to the FSC, the use of recycled paper contributes to the responsible use of raw wood.
