HALIFAX, NS, Aug. 6, 2013 (Chronicleherald.ca) - One of North America's most noted environmental activists and consumer advocates is focusing attention on environmental and public health concerns related to a Pictou County pulp mill.

Erin Brockovich's website says she "is receiving high numbers of inquiries from people in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, who are concerned that the excessive rate of cancer and respiratory illness in their community could be attributable to environmental contamination caused by the emissions from Northern Pulp."

Brockovich writes that she is discussing the matter with her environmental engineering team and would respond once the group has gleaned more knowledge.
