OAKLAND, CA, April 14, 2015 (RISI) -Kimberly-Clark Professional has revealed a newGreenHarvesttissue product line containing 20% wheat straw, which the company said it hopes will ease demand for woodfiber and recovered paper that it already uses.

The move will help conserve natural resources and address what K-C said will be dwindling supplies of recovered paper.

The company also referred to bamboo fiber.

"GreenHarvestproducts represent a pioneering approach to fiber sourcing that will transform the paper products industry," the company said on its website. "Today, in a resource-constrained, digital world, with fewer sources of recycled fiber, and the need to put less pressure on natural forests, it's important to continue exploring new fibers."

The story was available from the Associated Press and The New York Times.
